Speyside and Mull at Easter

Wildlife watching in Speyside and on Mull - birds and mammals galore! Two centre holiday with minibus transport based at a country house hotel in Speyside and hotel on Mull, during the spring display and migration season. Looking for Crested Tit, crossbill, Golden Eagle, divers, Pine Martens and Otters. Walking generally easy on paths and tracks, with some more uneven terrain in the mountains.

Day 1Arrive in the Cairngorms, 4 nights Tigh na Sgiath Country House Hotel
Days 2-4Explore the Cairngorms National Park including Abernethy Forest, the River Spey and the mountains and moors
Days 5Leisurely drive down Loch Laggan, past Ben Nevis, before taking ferry to Mull
Day 6-9Birdwatching and wildlife exploration of Mull, including a trip to Iona, the Gribun Cliffs, Loch na Keal and Loch Scridain
5 nights Isle of Mull Hotel
Days 10-11Catch a different ferry and travel back to the Cairngorms for 1 night, Tigh na Sgiath Country House Hotel

WalkingMost walks are 1-2 miles on wide sandy tracks, although there is the possibility of a forest walk of up to 4 miles. Coastal walks on uneven terrain of 2-3 miles. Walking boots recommended and collapsible/telescopic walking poles could be useful
WeatherVaries from cold to warm and sunny, with windy weather regular on the isles (0°-15°C)
InsectsBiting insects are unlikely to be a problem, but you may wish to bring repellent
