The turmoil in the financial world and the collapse of Excel have left people feeling confused and disturbed by the various reports that have come out of the media in the last few weeks. The press is never good at explaining the complexities of the holiday world and statements about “ATOL”, “payment mechanisms”, “online booking systems” and “package holidays” have only increased the confusion.
The people who may have lost out in the Excel collapse are those travellers who made all their arrangements themselves, ie. they bought their own flight tickets and maybe booked their own hotels and car hire. These people may have had no guarantees against the company not delivering the goods.
Guests booking a holiday with Speyside Wildlife however are covered for the full amount they’ve paid for their holiday under our guarantee schemes. If guests are booking a holiday which includes a flight, they automatically receive an ATOL receipt from us, which gives them the reassurance that their money is safe, backed by the Civil Aviation Authority. In addition, those guests who book holidays with us that don’t include a flight will recognise the insurance certificates shown below. Each time a guest makes a booking, we issue these certificates to the value of the amount they’ve paid. Again this gives you the security that your money is safe. Many of you will recognise the ATOL logo and know the guarantees this offers, but some of you may not be aware that any company selling you a holiday that doesn’t include a flight, must also issue a guarantee against the money paid for that holiday as well. This isn’t as widely known and some companies don’t provide you with this peace of mind. Many of our guests have holidayed with us over 20 times, not only for the enjoyment of the experience, but also because they don’t want to have to worry about anything other than having a good time!
